Environmental
At the Terminal, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and promoting responsible practices in each of our activities.
Therefore, we promote initiatives focused on optimizing energy consumption in our operations, mitigating the impact of climate change through proper emissions management, ensuring responsible waste disposal, and reducing water use.
Energy
At TCM, we understand that efficient energy management not only ensures smooth operations, but also brings economic benefits, improves sustainability, and strengthens our competitiveness in an increasingly demanding market.
Some of our objectives are:
- Measure energy consumption in detail by type of fuel and electricity used, in order to obtain a clear picture of our energy impact.
- Develop a strategy to reduce energy consumption and increase the use of renewable sources.
Emissions and Climate Change
At TCM, we are aware of the impact of greenhouse gas emissions. That is why we work to keep our emissions within the permitted limits and ensure a safe environment for our employees and the environment. In 2024, we conducted a study on exposure to diesel fuel and gasoline in the Operations area, the results of which confirmed that we are below the limits established by NOM-010-STPS-2014. In addition, we invested in technology to automate storage tank levels and purchased backup generators, thereby reinforcing operational safety and energy efficiency.
Develop and implement a Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions inventory.
Create a strategy to reduce and mitigate emissions from our operations, establishing clear objectives.
Identify and manage climate risks (physical and transition), conducting the first analysis of these risks using the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) methodology.
Waste
At the Terminal, we manage waste responsibly to minimize our environmental impact. We work with an authorized company that is responsible for its proper disposal and provides us with the corresponding certificates that guarantee regulatory compliance.
- Measure the amount of waste, both hazardous and non-hazardous.
- Update and implement a management plan for hazardous and special waste.
- Develop a strategy to reduce waste and promote a circular economy culture at TCM, establishing reduction, reuse, and recycling targets.
